VERIFLORA

VeriFlora® is a sustainability certification program for fresh cut flowers and potted plants. The VeriFlora certification program was established to provide stringent sustainability performance standards for growers and handlers of cut flowers and potted plants. It empowers each of us to stand up for sustainability standards that encompass all of the important issues, and to support the farmers and businesses who are making sustainability a reality.

FAIR LABOR PRACTICES AND COMMUNITY BENEFITS

Fair Labor Practices and Community Benefits certification, developed by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) in conjunction with key stakeholders, validates socially responsible practices in agricultural production and processing. Complementing organic and other environmental certifications, Fair Labor meets the growing consumer demand for products produced in accordance with fair and equitable labor practices. Fair Labor Practices includes comprehensive criteria that directly benefits workers, their families and communities. The program helps ensure equitable hiring and employment practices,  safe working conditions,  access to health, education and transportation services, support of local and regional communities, appreciation of cultural and environmental impacts.

FLOR DE ECUADOR

It is the socio-environmental program of Expoflores, Ecuador's National Association of Flower Producers and Exporters.FlorEcuador® is a Program that integrates Social Responsibility, Environmental Protection and Good Agricultural Practices. FlorEcuador® improves labor conditions for floriculture workers, seeks sustainable production with optimal use of resources, prohibits the use of toxic pesticides and promotes the application of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques for pest control. FlorEcuador® is an Ecuadorian National Standard that increases competitiveness amomg flower companies with the implementation of improved practices in its three main components: Social Responsibility, Environmental Protection and Good Agricultural Practices

Is an international business alliance, created to promote secure international trade in cooperation with governments and international organizations.

FLOWERS FOR KIDS

The Flowers for Kids® program consists of a one hour hands-on interactive floral experience. The class is designed for up to 75 elementary students, teachers, administrators, and parents. During the presentation, everyone learns the basics in growing flowers, taking care of them, and making bouquets. At the end of each presentation all participants make their own bouquets to take home. "Look Mom, I made you this bunch of flowers. And I know how to take care of them!"
